[H-GEN] router gateways and storms

After one of the recent storms I have a peculiar problem with my Asus
router. Just one of the network ports is broken. No lights, no comms no
nuthin.

We were out during the storm so I didn't have the oppertunity to run
around and disconnect everything like I usually do. I know we lost power
because of various bits of equipment being reset, including the uptime on
the router running openwrt. It took me a while to recognise the problem as
I don't use the equipment connected on that port all the time.

My question is: Is it likely the storm and/or subsequent power outage
caused just one network port to go faulty?

My insurance company want's a letter from a repairer stating same but I
don't particularly want to waste my time (nor internet outage) if it's a
long shot.

Which I guess leads me to another couple of questions: Does anyone know a
"repairer" that can look at it and give me a statement (a Humbug person
perhaps)?

Thanks
Peter Arnold
