Yes but they aren't included in security updates and the like. Not to  
mention the fact that they tend to just be a net-install image where  
as we really want to be able to install from disc to avoid having to  
redownload everything if we need to reinstall. This is particularly  
useful since at home I can (and now have) download the full Debian  
distribution as DVD ISOs from my ISPs mirror without using my  
download quota. At work no such mirror exists so a net-based install  
would be significantly slower.

On the plus side, we now have Debian testing installed and running  
well. The install is ultra-minimal because originally there was a  
problem reading the available packages from the DVD and the installer  
just froze. Second time round I just installed the base system and  
nothing else. It cost me an hour or so in trying to find the  
dependencies for VMware. All the hardware we need (network, SATA and  
CPU) seem to be fully functional. I'm currently setting up an  
instance of IWWCM inside the VM, so it all looks promising.
