Hi,

Thunderbird is a pretty good gui email client and also does usenet
newsgroups. It has threaded email support which is good for mailing
lists and usenet groups.

You can turn on some basic junk mail filtering that is supposed to
learn what spam is when you mark things as junk and you can have
varying levels of success with it.

You have message filters so can move messages into different folders
or do other actions with them as well. You can also have customized
filters that will let you filter on anything in the message source so
you have more flexibility then other gui message filters that I have seen.

It has pretty much everything email related but if you want extras
like a calendar then it isn't in there. Although mozilla also have a
calendar project but I have never tried their calendar program.

Kind Regards,
Anthony Irwin
