[H-GEN] Thunderbird as a replacement for Outlook

I have a middle-aged friend who has been using a standard
Windows installation for years. I've recently convinced her to
install Firefox as a replacement for Explorer and she is so
happy that she is now asking for something to replace Outlook
for her email.

Since I've never used Outlook, I'm interested to hear from
people with relevant experience if Thunderbird is likely to make
her happy. If Thunderbird is lacking particular features that
Outlook provides, I'd be interested to know what they are (in
case they're things that she doesn't use).

The home Unix connection is that all this is the lead-up to a
forthcoming plan to install Linux in a dual-boot configuration
on her machine.

Feel free to reply to me in private email or on the #humbug IRC
channel. I can summarise things later if people wish.

Cheers, Greg
