This slipped my mind until just now. Some people may have some equipment
they wish to get rid of.
Here was the announcement I received, forwarded with permission.
--------
Colleagues,
Next Saturday, May 13, Dell Australia and Griffith University will hold a
free computer recycling day at Nathan Campus.
Computers contain hazardous materials such as lead, mercury and cadmium.
Many of the plastics used in electronic equipment contain flame retardants.
All the components can, and should, be recycled rather than end up in
landfill.
Visitors will be able to empty their garages and cupboards of any brand of
computer, monitor, printer and even mice and drop them off for safe,
environmentally conscious and free recycling by Dell. This is a one off
event and no similar exercise of this scale has been undertaken before in
Queensland.
The free recycling event will take place on Saturday, May 13 from 9am to
3pm at the Griffith University EcoCentre (N68), Nathan campus.
For more information, see http://www.dell.com.au/recycle or
http://www.griffith.edu.au/school/eve/ewaste/ or call 1300 303 263.
Note: Dell is unable to accept commercial or university computers and
non-computer equipment such as TVs, stereos or mobile phones, appliances or
furniture. To arrange disposal of old university computers, please contact
InfoServices on x55555.
