I heartily second this.  I have a job that demands quite a bit of 
overtime, three young children, part-time study, and many other 
commitments on my time (not to mention being a geek for many people in 
need of computer help).  The idea of me turning up to HUMBUG meetings is 
basically ludricous - I haven't even had time to attend a gaming LAN for 
several months now, let alone other computer activities.  But I 
subscribe to this list and read all the mail, often whilst sitting on 
the train to or from work.  I haven't had a problem with my Linux 
machines yet that Google couldn't solve, but I enjoy lending a hand to 
others when I can.  For some, HUMBUG is primarly (and for me, solely) a 
virtual organization, and works brilliantly in that regards.
