G'day All,
I must say that I tend to admire the acerbic thrust that Greg Black adds
to the sometimes weighty bundiage in our list ......... but

I use OO as my word processor, so I too would like to know what
alternative writing programme he recommends :-]
In the past 4 years I have not found a situation in word processing,
where school.doc did not work with OO set to save it in rtf.
Or the return path from MS, for that matter.

And Please..........
Lets not wander into arcane stuff like ed, vi, xedit [or GNU's nano,
heaven forbid], that the binary elite have teethed on.
I really loved the last flame war, but remember this............

On this particular day, we are trying to win friends to an alternative
operating system for computers.
This is particularly difficult to achieve, with a pubic that finds MS
comparitively easy to use, even if it is expensive.

We need to exhibit easy to use, and similar Linux programmes.
Much as I admire it, grandstanding geek here is really out of order, on
this particular occasion.

cheers Tony
