Hello,
Does anybody have experience with the below mentioned Ethernet card?
eth1: Class 0200: 8086:1076
Ethernet controller: Intel Corp. 82541GI/PI Gigabit Ethernet Controller
For the full picture, this one works and also sits on the motherboard:
eth0: 01:01.0 Class 0200: 8086:1075
01:01.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corp. 82547GI Gigabit Ethernet Controller
When I modprobe e1000 (either the one from FC2 or the one supplied by Intel (version 5.5.4), it gets recognized but it gives me this error:
Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Driver - version 5.5.4-NAPI
Copyright (c) 1999-2004 Intel Corporation.
PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:01:01.0 to 64
divert: allocating divert_blk for eth0
e1000: eth0: e1000_probe: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Connection
e1000: 0000:03:02.0: e1000_reset: Hardware Error
e1000: eth1: e1000_probe: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Connection
e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog: NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex
It is the "e1000_reset: Hardware Error" which kind of scares me :-/
The device (eth1) itself is pretty confused: when putting in the
ethernet it gets a link, but when taking it out the link it still
there and it's negotiated to 100baseT4:
eth1: negotiated 100baseT4 flow-control, link ok
product info: vendor ffffffff:ff:ff, model 63 rev 15
basic mode: software reset, loopback, isolate, collision test, autonegotiation enabled
basic status: autonegotiation complete, remote fault, link ok
capabilities: 100baseT4 100baseTx-FD 100baseTx-HD 10baseT-FD 10baseT-HD flow-control
advertising: 100baseT4 100baseTx-FD 100baseTx-HD 10baseT-FD 10baseT-HD flow-control
link partner: 100baseT4 100baseTx-FD 100baseTx-HD 10baseT-FD 10baseT-HD flow-control
It's all too tricky....
Edwin
