Pasted from the Wiki:

"The current plan is to have a stall at an open air market in Brisbane
on SFD. We are organising a large SFD sign, a HUMBUG
(http://www.humbug.org.au) sign and pamphlets which will explain what
OSS is all about. We are looking at having CDs to give away (Ubuntu,
Knoppix, others) and we are going to make sure that non-Linux OSS gets
some airtime. CDs containing OSS for MS-Windows may be given away.

We think several laptops wil be brought along for the day, with one
running at a time. As each one runs out of power (they'll be on battery)
we'll start the next.

Active discussion on Brisbane's SFD events are taking place on the
Humbug-General list. "

So, do we need help burning/stomping CDs? Do we have pre-burned/stomped
CDs to give away? Do we need to print out and/or put up posters? I have
uni work and stuff to do, but I'm willing to do a bit of legwork to get
me and the little one(s) out of the house. (For those not following my
blog, we're expecting baby #2 in April, so I need to keep myself active.)

As far as I'm aware I'm working that day (haven't checked the roster but
I normally work Saturdays) so I don't think I'll be able to come along
in person and help (unless you need assistance from 6-6:30AM). However
once something has been finalised I can advertise things in various
places. Shopping centre notice boards are great places to start, as are
computer stores.

Has anyone contacted Extra/ACA/TT? If we're going ahead with stuff
somebody in 'authority' will need to get their face on the tv :-)

Should we move discussion to a brainstorming session on irc instead?
Just a thought as it might be faster and we could try and make a time
that several interested people could make it. A log could be put up for
people to look at and add ideas.

Just some thoughts while I'm supposed to be studying :-)

Sandra.

Tony: I'd rather be homeless than be you, probie.
