I used RT for a while, but dropped it -- partly because of some
annoying bugs but more because I got sick of the continual
updates and associated hassles.  I've switched to mantis[1], but
there are several others that are worth looking at as well.  I'd
suggest looking at as many as you can find and reading their
doco to get an idea of the things they offer.  Then, when you
have a better understanding, install a couple of them and have a
play.
