Strong advice: toss them in the nearest dumpster and don't waste
your time with them.

DDS-1 is fine (but limited in capacity); DDS-3 is fine; but
DDS-2 was a mistake from day one and should be forgotten.
They're cheap because people don't want them.  If your backups
matter enough to be worth doing, use something else.
