Hi All,
I'm James, a fairly recent member of HubBug, this is my first posting to
any of the mailing lists ;)
I have a problem I'd like some help on, I haven't been able to solve it
for a few months now.
Summary: Unable to get my TV Card Remote to work ...
TV Card Type:
00:0d.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video Capture (rev 11)
00:0d.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio Capture (rev 11)
bttv type=41
Everything thus far is configured ok, ie: The radio and tv both work
okay (the tv would work if I had a decent Antenna).
When I configure lirc with dpkg-reconfigure lirc, Selecting "5 TV Card",
and "AverMedia TV Card (TVCapture98, TVPhone98) (card=13/41)" I get the
following message from lirc:
Setting up modutils file
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
#####################################################
## I couldn't load the required kernel modules ##
## You should install lirc-modules-source to build ##
## kernel support for your hardware. ##
#####################################################
## If this message is not appropriate you may set ##
## LOAD_MODULES=false in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf ##
#####################################################
Starting lirc daemon:.
And the following message from /var/log/messages
Mar 1 00:05:03 daisy kernel: lirc_gpio (-1): card type 0x29, id 0x0
Mar 1 00:05:03 daisy kernel: lirc_gpio (-1): TV card type 29 not supported!
I would greatly appreciate any help!
cheers
James

-You need only two tools. WD-40 and duct tape.
-If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40.
-If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
