Hi All

I regularly have to copy or move large amounts of small files.  10 -
15,000 x 2 - 20kb mp3 files. When I do so it takes a very long time even
though it's only a few hundred mb.

It's on a laptop, so I cannot use raid or a hardware cache etc... does
anyone know any tuning tips to help speed this process up?

I'm running Mandrake 9.1 and use ext3 file system.

Any comments pointers would be welcome.
