It's surely a strategy for enhancing the value of their shares,
judging from the reported movement of their stock prices. After
all, if you've got a company without any viable products, there
are limited ways to extract some final value from it and these
guys seem to have found just about the perfect solution to that.

Whether their approach is sane in the wider scheme of things is
probably not at all important. They've gained more media cover
and general interest via this ploy than with anything else they
have attempted in recent years.

Of course, my personal opinion is that the sooner they just curl
up and die the better for everybody; and the sooner the world
wakes up to the utter stupidity of all software patents and such
restrictions, the better off we'll all be.

Cheers, Greg
