I'm curious to know what kind of experience people have had with
Linux Systems Labs in Melbourne. I purchased a DVD from them
recently and found it has lots of errors.
So far, they have agreed to "check" it if I send it back at my
expense and to replace it if they agree with me. But they have
not given any indications of turn around time. Nor have they
shown any real willingness to assume that I'm correct when I
claim the disk is faulty -- despite having tried it in three
different (and new) drives and getting my console filled with
"MEDIUM ERROR" messages on each machine.
Not so long ago, I had an old UPS fail. I rang the Freecall
number for APC, told them my story and they immediately sent me
a replacement unit by courier. The replacement came with the
necessary paperwork and packaging for me to freight the old unit
back to them at their expense and I had a month to accomplish
that. I call that good service. So far, LSL seem to be close
to the other end of the spectrum.
Cheers, Greg
