What more do you want? Thomas to fly out from germany and fix your
laptop for personally? Compile the driver!
The driver from winischhofer.net worked painlessly for me. The
particular SiS card that I have is not even _detected_ by the stock
XFree86 driver, but the updated driver works fine.
Drivers in XFree86 releases tend to be (sometimes frustratingly)
reliable and well tested, hence not necessarily bleeding edge.
