Hi folks,

I've been trying to fit a firewall between a Motorola SB4200 Cable modem and
a LAN.
If I connect my Laptop (win2k) directly to the modem (Ethernet connection),
the modem's DHCP server gives me an IP address.
If I try the same piece of Ethernet cable into a smoothwall box that is set
to obtain an IP address automatically via DHCP, I do not get an IP address.

Has anyone had any experience with these modems on the Optus cable network?

Best Regards,
Alan Harrison.
