Ouch, don't touch em. My old school, St. James College at one stage
had a 256Kbps ADSL link through this crowd (not sure if they've ditched
it yet - they were planning to).

When it worked, it worked well, but thet was only about 60% of the
time. The service was often down, and Telstra, was constantly to blame.

While yes, Telstra does sometimes indulge in somewhat questionable
practices to try and stifle competition, I get suspicious of the ISP
when it happens this frequently - especially when our own ADSL link is
still running.

Another crowd to beware of, ITXPress, do much the same thing. The
Santuary internet cafe in The Gap, uses this crowd as their ISP, and so
far, they have had quite a bad track record for outages. And they're
always Telstra's problem.

The odd thing, we have an ADSL service though iTel, (we have had a
dialup account for over 5 years now - back when they were GIL - part of
the Ipswich council) and we're hooked up to the same exchange as the
cafe. When there's susposedly been really bad outages affecting all of
The Gap, we've still had a reliable service, dispite using the same
Telstra equipment and infrastructure. Hrmm, I get suspicious when that
happens.

Quite frankly, I'm not a mushroom, and I really hate it when ISPs keep
me in the dark and feed me bull$#!t.
