Folks, if you work in systems administration you should probably think
about filling out the SAGE salary survey online at

        http://www.sage.org/salsur

The survey is applicable to those of us living in countries other than
the US and is pretty brief. In return you get a copy of the results
when they're ready---handy for arguing for a raise, examining
employment options, or just finding out what *other* sysadmins are
doing and getting.

The current survey asks questions about your workplace, compensation
and views for the year of *2002*. Previous years' results are also
online at:

        http://sageweb.sage.org/jobs/salary_survey/

(You need to be a SAGE member to see the results of the 2001 survey,
but the 2000, 1999, 1998 and 1997 results are available to all.)

Australia is usually pretty well represented in the survey, and if you
fill it out you can only help. Naturally if you're not going to take
it seriously or you're not actually *working* as a systems
administrator or similar, I would *not* fill out the survey so's not
to ruin the results for the rest of us.
