[H-GEN] Fuzzy rectangles in X

Hi,

I have installed Debian Woody onto a Toshiba Satellite 2210 XCDS/6 laptop computer and it seems to be running ok except in X there are small fuzzy rectangles running horizontal across the screen. It is about 2 or 3 cm from the bottom of the screen.

I believe I am running version 4.?? of the Xfree86 server. I realise this isn't all that descriptive but if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
