Do you have the slightest idea on what the logs said about the
connection? personally I have seen many little quirks in ppp connections
over the years and find that reading the logs and knowing exactly what
options where passed to pppd is a great help. It could be that the
connection was dropping after a small period of inactivity because that
is what it was told to do, could be that it was disconnected fromt he
other end. You may have been using the wrong auth method for you
provider, anything could have caused it. The question you asked is
like saying "why can I only get my ford or holden to drive on the road?
I have tried with mazda, porsche, toyota and daewoo"
