  Maybe slightly off topic, but here I go anyway:

  ADSL (PPPoa/PPPoe/RFC1483) is prone to "tunnel lockups", which will
temporarily "kill" your ADSL connection until the PVCID is reset.
At work, an automated system is responsible for this; so these
problems are generally fixed very quickly.   However when I left
last night this service had crashed...

  Just thought this might be interesting to some...
