You can install a useful Debian system from a 180M CD.

Look for a debian cd image called "Bonzai [sic] Linux".

The 180M netinst.iso image linked off the debian homepage is a pretty
good way to get started, too.

I've not had to install debian from a standard multi-CD set for years;
I always use an 80mm bootstrap CD and net install.

I'm gonna try the APC CDs this weekend (bought the mag specifically to
get them[1]) because I just downgraded my ISP plan from "Barely tolerable
monthly limit for so-called 'broadband'" to "*insultingly* low bandwidth
limit", and having a debian CD set around will thus be useful.
