Hi,
I had a hard drive die the other day, and ended up having to reload the
lot. Anyways, I though I'd give Linux From Scratch a try.

So far so good, I ended up replacing the bootscripts with hacked up
versions of the Slackware 8.0 ones, and I've got XFree86 running. My
machine goes like a rocket now and everything works fine apart from one
little nagging glitch:

I notice, whenever I move a window or scroll a page, I get "snow"
appearing on the screen. It only appears when the screen changes, when
the image is static, the "snow" disappears.

I've also noticed this in Red Hat 8.0 recently before I lost the hard
drive. What would be causing this and how do I fix it?

	Relevant Details of my machine:
CPU: 2x Intel Pentium III 1GHz
		RAM: 1024MB
Video: ATI Radeon 7000 AGP (64MB)
		Monitor: Hitachi CM753ET (19" CRT)

	And the software:
		XFree86 version 4.3.0
			(freshly downloaded from planetmirror
				and compilled this morning)

		Linux 2.4.20 (Plain unpatched kernel)

	I'm running a resolution of 1600x1200 at 24-bit colour. As I say,
everything else works fine, I'm currently running FVWM (while I wait for
my box to finish compilling KDE 3.1) along with Mozilla 1.4rc1 without
any problems. I've blown away the static binaries I made for the
initial build, and so far, nothing has squeaked.

Any ideas as to fixing this "snow" problem?
Thanks

BTW: Yes, you'll notice my public key has changed. The old one was on
the hard drive that died, and I haven't found where I had my key stored.
