I am trying to work thru a problem under RedHat 9. I can telnet[1] to a
Solaris server computer just fine from the text consoles; however,
telnet from an xterms appears to hang after the "Escape character is '^]'.".
This same behaviour is observed under both KDE and GNOME, and under KTerm
and GNOME Terminal. I have also tried to set the terminal (using TERM
admittedly) to 'linux', and 'vt100'. Again, to no effect.
My question is basically: where the hell should I look for differences
between xterms and consoles that might cause this behaviour?
Cheers,
Raymond
