For a long time now I've been getting my redhat updates manually
from mirror.aarnet.edu.au... they are a little behind what's
available at updates.redhat.com, but only by a day or so (rarely any
more than that, not that I've noticed).

And there's lots of updates for all the distros (not only rh),
keeping up with them is a constant and bandwidth-intensive issue,
especially over time.

But like you, I'll soon be changing from redhat, their new limited
12mth support policy (or else pay big bucks) has me looking at
alternatives. (rh7.3 becomes obselete at the end of this year, rh9
is scheduled for obselence next March).

So I'm keen to get a current copy of as many as the updates as
possible (eg, for both debian and mandrake). I presume that it will
be ok if I bring my box to the meeting and just suck them onto my
hard drive? And I've got plenty to donate (isos etc) if I have
anything not on your fileserver.

Cheers
Tony
