Yup.
There's support under linux,
but you'll probably have to patch your kernel.

If you just want the fs encrypted, look at CryptoAPI (http://www.kerneli.org).
I have /home encrypted with CryptoAPI,

Loop-AES (http://sourceforge.net/projects/loop-aes/) does the same thing.
I've read that loop-aes has a large assembler component and 
runs substantially faster than CryptoAPI.
I've never played with it.

If you want to hide the fs in another file (steganography),
you might find the answer in StegFS (http://stegfs.sourceforge.net/).
I've never played with it. YMMV.

Of course, if there's a relevant line in your fstab,
there's not much point using steganography...;-)
