G'day All,
I have just scored a Compaq Proliant with one slot 8 Intel 200 Mz cpu
installed.
Taking the back off I noticed that there is a space for a second one
[and some sort of cache card that pokes up/down, right next to it]

In big bold type the mobo states it requires
ecc edo unbuffered dimms

So.
My first question is
where are the ecc edo unbuffered dimms different from the 'ordinary'
ones one tends to use. I tried slotting a 128 Mb 'ordinary' one in and
the machine just refused to boot.

and secondly -
Do any of you have spare 128 Mb ram sticks or cpu bits, to suit this
mobo. It really is a great looking machine.

I realise that at this point I am skating quite close to the alternative
list! Apologies, here.

But I would be more than happy to pay for them.
cheers Tony bilbrough
