Why not backup _all_ the data[1], and then boot off CD, repartition &
bring all the data back. There are various places to store the data -
such as shuffling data around repartitioning the drive bit-by-bit, backing
up to another system & bringing the data back via FTP, etc.
When I setup decent sized drives I like to leave a bit of space to the
side as if possible. Very useful for repartitioning, etc.
[1] Using dump,tar,cpio or a printer & a scanner. Yeah I was kidding with
that last one.
