Oh boy. Fun, fun, fun!

It just gets better!

I see. I would recommend examining the wealth of pre-made tools which
are available to you.
I had to do something with a lot of email about a week ago and was
surprised at how easy it was (I was reading in about 75MB of mail in
mbox format and resorting it by send date into other mailboxes in mbox
format).
Using Mail::Internet (a perl module) and a few other tools made this
*very* easy and may simplify your life quite a bit.

I'd also be more than happy to talk to you privately a bit more about
helping out if that's doable for you.
Cheers,
jason
