I had some misgivings about it, and I'm hardly surprised that something is

Yup it does. I'm just not sure what to do about it other than perhaps try
out the binary driver supplied by NVidia.

It asks us questions we don't understand, although your paste led us to the
excellent man page -- thanks for that! I didn't realise there was a man
page for the config file, although a little thought would probably have led
to the trying of various man pages.

Yes it is a rather large list. There was one that matched in the 'resolved'
section, however the person resolving said that the person reporting the
bug was using the NVidia driver and therefore support was not going to be
provided.

Yes well this is of course something I would have considered had it been me
in the situation. Fortunately he has his own computer so mine is still ok. :-)
