Greg, you seem to be on the defensive here... I don't think (hope!)
anyone takes (or responds) personally to anything posted here. I
may not support some of your (often well-tempered) opinions, but I
certainly support the fact that they can be expressed - go for it!

If sometimes they earn flack (which is always the "danger" of saying
things in public), sometimes praise, sometimes ignored, that's all
ok. One hopes this never changes, nor that any of it will ever get
personal and publically vindictive. After all, we are all
individuals, collectively.

It's a unfortunate fact with mailing lists (and newsgroups) that
things read are so often not taken in the spirit in which they were
written... if it was a face-to-face conversation, things would
otherwise have been taken trivially and quickly clarified. Ahh, the
pen is mightier than the sword! :-)

I'm sure most of us have been witness to many silly flame wars that
started off when someone wrote something that had been mis-read,
taken out of context, or taken as an afront by some jerk who would
have been better off to simply sit on his hands for a few moments
and taken a few deep breaths before simply hitting the <next>
button.

Rock on unix - world domination!
*That's* what it's all about here! :-)

Cheers
