I wonder what sort of experience list members have had with recent videos cards,
and their support under linux.  Im not keen on nvidia and the associated kludge
of recompiling stuff whenever X or the kernel changes (esp. when traking unstable
 and ipv6).

In particular, I want to be able to use tv/video out functions, and video capture 
would be a bonus (I do recall the recent disscussion).

How do the ATI cards esp. 9000, 7000 & 9700 series stackup?  They seem to be flooding 
ebay ATM.  Anyone familar with gatos and care to comment?
