>From my experience doing device driver development some years back on
Solaris/x86 2.6 & 2.7 one of the most common results of a kernel panic
is, for some reason, a wiped partition table.
I used to keep a copy of the partition table on my whiteboard and
restore it by hand after a pt-eating crash.
Anybody else ever hear of Solaris doing that? (Maybe it was just the
particular machine I was using?)
