Whoa there! Solaris/x86 uses the msdos "primary partition" concept in order
to create a logical disk device. It is this logical disk device which you 
then slice up in the traditional manner. Within this logical disk device a 
Solaris slice is equivalent to a linux partition.

It's a subtle but important difference ;)

For those interested in installing solaris/x86, I strongly recommend that
you use a separate disk to do so -- saves you from a whole world of pain.
(It's what I've done for years now).
