Setting up and ADLS modem is just as easy. I use Roaring Penguin PPPoE
(don't know who doesn't) on Mandrake 9.0 boxes.

You type in 'adsl-setup', follow the bouncing ball and then type in
'adsl-start'. Easier than setting up the BPALoing software IMHO :)

The basic setup is the linux box has a ethernet card dedicated to the ADSL
modem (the one marked 10BaseT) and a plug for your phone cable. I would say
that is the other port you are refering to. Or is it a DB9 connector?

I have seen both modems Telstra supply but don't know which you are refering
to, as both are called 'Alcatel Speed Touch Home'. Does it look like a green
Stingray or a black box?

Regards
Harry
