Pah. Perhaps my testing isn't up to scratch.
Simply catting the venerable file "english.au" to /dev/audio and
/dev/dsp makes an awful noise, but playing a sample ogg vorbis file
with ogg123 works just great.
How annoying. Is there some other generally accepted way to check if
the sound card and drivers are working these days? Or is the CM8738
just a POS?
