Linux 2.6.0 came out about 10-12 hours ago. I've been running a 2.6.0
test (pre-) kernel on my Debian/Unstable system for a little while and had
few problems moving up from 2.4. The problems I did encounter were mostly
of the "annoying" sort.
Problems I saw going to a 2.6.0 test kernel:
1) The ps/2 mouse stopped working under X.
Quickest fix was to connect it as a usb mouse since this is what it really
was anyway. Detected & ran fine. Other fixes for getting a ps/2 mouse to
work under 2.6 in X are floating around the 'net.
2) Osview breaks
The damn thing runs but won't display. Odd. Hardly a serious issue
though.
3) The device name used by my CDRW changed. Apparently I shouldn't use
scsi emulation for the IDE burner anymore. Actually I'm yet to get around
to fixing this. Probably tonight.
