To be brutally honest, they're crap. I've had nothing but problems, 
ranging from buggy drivers, to bad build quality. Not to forget that 
some at them are in essence the winmodems of the RAID world, shifting a 
lof of work onto the host processor.

They're big in the OEM space, and we all know the comparative quality of
onboard video and sound.
