In my efforts to setup my Mega Distro Server to allow remote installs of as
many distros as possible, I have been playing with such things a lot
recently. While TFTP stands for Trivial File Transfer Protocol, it is not
actually that trivial, and there seem to be a few in-compatabilities
between servers and clients. My suggestion is to try different TFTP
servers (atftp seems to be written specifically for PXE stuff).

If you can't get it working before the next meeting, you could drag it
along and we can try booting it from my server.
