Two Nics shouldn't be necissary no, as you can specify a pipe as being
from/to any ip address, but in saying that I don't actually have a single
NIC box here, so I can't test it for you, sorry.

I found the Linux B/w shaping very daunting, which is the main reason I
chose FreeBSD, It may be worth finding out whether Net/Open BSD have
dummynet or some such program available to them, but failing that I would
suggest tc on your favourite linux distro. I noticed FreeBSD have a Sparc64
version, this doesnt help??(I don't know Sparc's).
