[H-GEN] Java query (slightly off topic??? No one ever posts to the coding list anyway)

 Does anyone know how to obtain environment details from within Java code?
I need to get the logged in username from the XP environment where this code
will be running, although it is possible the code will be running on Solaris
8 workstations as well.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggested resources.
