~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Internet Society of Australia (ISOC-AU) is holding a free evening
meeting on Thursday 1st May 2003 in Brisbane for all interested
Internet users - you don't have to be a member of ISOC-AU to attend, so
please pass this invitation on to anyone who might be interested.
It will be a friendly, informal round-table event, at which people may
discuss their own views on current Internet issues and directions - see
reports of previous meetings, all with very different approaches, at
http://www.isoc-au.org.au/TCCM/
VENUE: The Brisbane Central City Library theatrette
       City Plaza, Lower Ground Level
       Corner Ann, George and Adelaide Streets, Brisbane
TIME: 5:30-7:00 pm on Thursday 1st May 2003
Aims of the consultation and discussion meeting are:
 (a) to foster consumer input into the development of the Internet,
     to fulfil the vision that `the Internet is for everyone!' and,
 (b) to ensure that maximum benefits flow to Internet users as
     participants in society and the global information economy, and to
     draw input from all relevant stakeholders and organisations.
The meeting will be followed by a meal and informal chat at a local
restaurant.
If you are interested or would just like to know more, please contact
Kate Lance, ISOC-AU Executive Director, on lance at cyber.com.au, or Tony
Hill, ISOC-AU President (who will chair the meeting) on 041 212 8755,
or tony at keanyhill.wattle.id.au, or president at isoc-au.org.au
Please RSVP to lance at cyber.com.au by 30th April if you wish to attend.
ISOC-AU receives support from the Commonwealth through the
Telecommunications Consumer Representation Grant Program of the
Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts and
these meetings are part of that program.
