Oh, forgot to mention, it's a 5 1/4" drive.  Mac formatted is okay, I've
just installed the drive and both Windows & Linux can see it.
Formatting 2GB volumes usually doesn't take that long, although I've
never tried formatting MO media. ;-)

I've found out, it sees itself as /dev/sda(?) (don't know if partitions
are involved or not - I doubt it).  Windows 2000 also picked it up
without the need for drivers.  I was patiently awaiting the imfamous
"New Hardware Found" dialogue, but this never showed up, however, a
quick look in Device Manager revealed two new devices: The SCSI card
(Advansys PCI - can't recall exact model) and the drive itself.
