My husband tried this for FreeBSD, and David is correct. Something about
Type 1 and Type 2 voice modems or something like that. Most voice modems
are type 2 (I think, please read docos first), but in US they are type 1
and that's what the support is for. We did find one type 1, at David
Jones of all places, but it had extra features (eg it's a speakerphone)
that we didn't really feel like paying an extra $200 for. In the end we
decided that we didn't need it that badly.
