Fair enough :)  I do recomend scp with passphrase access only from a
security point of view though.  Chances are all your boxes are behind a
firewall/NAT anyway I guess.

What is the M$ client OS?  The NT family (incl W2K of course) do have
scheduling capabilities.  They would do fine to setup an automated backup
job though.

Have you tried the web based mail user agents (MUAs) like Squirrelmail?
There are many on sourceforge but Squirrel seems to be among the most
popular (although I haven't used it widely it has impressed me & most MUAs
don't do that).  You could then integrate ldap at the OS level on your
mail server.  I believe that these web based MUAs are going to integrater
well with various calendaring apps as well (as there is a calendar
standard forming).
