I would try making a bootable cd (I have not tried this under Linux but I
think you select El Torrito in your burning software) on another box,
containing the required tools. Of course the BIOS of the print server would
have to support booting from CD and you may have to spring for a CDROM drive
(You can get a cheap one for about $40 new) for your print server.
You should end up with a lot more reliability than a floppy, less network
traffic (doesn't sound like the network is overloaded though).
Unfortunately I cannot attend the HUMBUG meeting this weekend. If you do not
have a CD burner and you decide to go with this option, perhaps one of the
members may offer to burn a disc for you.
