Fair enough yes, I opted for the 12" screen because I wanted the reduced
weight. Be careful though, a cheap LCD can really ruin your day. Watch
for excessive ghosting, and worse yet, make sure your future display
does not have that awful line-in-the-middle problem.
According to the Apple store, by the way, you'd probably be after the
top of the line iBook, plus an extra 256Mb memory. The extra memory
appears to have gone up in price of late, it's a whopping $330 for the
256Mb you'd need, so your price if you include wireless and that memory
would be around $4,500. They had what I wanted at a price I could live
with, but that doesn't appear to be the case for you. Oh well. :)
For your original question, the best place to find out about support for
nVidia chipsets is probably http://www.nvidia.com/, they should have
listed what their drivers support.
Let us know what your final decision is, and how well whatever you
choose runs for you.
