Sounds like the mouse I use, and was about to recomend.  Can't recall the
model details (I'm not at my own computer at the moment), and I use the
PS/2 model.  Works well with Linux, so long as you use the latest version
of imwheel.  The extra wheel and buttons may require some minor manual
configuration for any particular peice of software, as I haven't yet found
anything configured to use them out of the box.

Still need to be cleaned every now and then, as I found out yesterday,
although maybe that doesn't apply to people that arn't loosing their hair
