I mentioned in another message that the perceived slowness is
similar for use with both a local and a network repository.  I'm
having a little holiday from programming at present (injured
hand makes typing a pain) and have no desire to make changes to
software just to time CVS, so I can't quantify the slowness
now.  If it's still of interest when I get back to programming,
I'll report some figures.
